Electrical Panel Upgrades in Granada Hills & Los Angeles
Adding an EV charger, remodeling, or updating older electrical equipment? Zap Electric reviews your existing panel, planned loads, and installation conditions before recommending a scope of work.
Rebates for eligible electrical panel upgrades and EV outlet installation.
Who may qualify?
SCE residential customers who meet income or qualifying-assistance requirements, or live in a designated disadvantaged community, may qualify. The panel-and-outlet option applies to a main panel below 200A that cannot support Level 2 charging, upgraded to at least 200A.
This is an EV-related program, not a general rebate for every panel replacement.
Plan your application
Eligible properties are single-family residences with their own panel and an unshared electric meter. Renters need owner approval. Keep the itemized invoice, finalized permit, and before-and-after panel photos.
Applications may be submitted during planning or installation, or within six months after completion. Approved participants must install a Level 2 charger within 180 days after receiving the rebate.
The program covers qualifying panel and/or 240V-circuit work; charger purchase and installation are excluded.
Program details checked October 29, 2026. Utility approval, eligible costs, funding and current terms determine your rebate. Savings are not guaranteed. Check your electric bill to identify your utility.
Plan electrical capacity around your property.
When to discuss a panel upgrade
A growing household, new appliances, an ADU, or limited breaker space can be reasons to review your electrical service. An upgrade is not automatically necessary for every project; the decision depends on your existing equipment and electrical needs.
What we review
We discuss your current service, the equipment you plan to add, panel location, and the work needed to support your project. Where applicable, the plan may include utility coordination, permits, inspection, and grounding and bonding work.
Requesting an estimate
Send your city, a clear photo of the panel and its label, and a list of planned appliances or equipment. Photos help start the conversation; the final scope may require an on-site assessment.
